Tight10 is a research-based and structured reading fluency routine designed for use across core content areas to develop strong reading skills. The Tight10 was created by Kate Crist and Dr. Ali Wilson - two experienced educators driven by the frustration of limited literacy tools in secondary classrooms. They designed it to be simple, effective, and usable across subjects with minimal training. The Tight10 combines a reading fluency routine and a comprehension task. This approach requires just 10 minutes, three times a week and is ideal for integration into existing curriculum as a Tier 1, Tier 2, or Tier 3 support. Session participants will walk away with research-based, ready-to-implement fluency routines designed for middle and high school classrooms. This session is meant for teachers, coaches, and instructional leaders interested in providing students science-based instructional routines to support access and success with grade level complex text.
