L³ Summit: Embracing Leadership, Language, and Literacy
Wednesday June 10, 2026 12:30pm - 1:30pm MDT
The Project for Adolescent Literacy (PAL) is a teacher-centered initiative to build awareness around, and solutions for, older students who are not yet reading at grade level. Created by, and for, educators who work with adolescents who are not reading at grade level, PAL seeks to identify what works (materials, curricula, strategies, and supportive policies) and tell the stories of educators and students who have seen success.

PAL will showcase their national and local work that centers the needs of teachers and students to improve adolescent literacy. Participants will learn about the project, explore tools and resources designed by PAL and its Learning Community, and start drafting their own pathway toward teacher-centered professional learning.

Participant Outcomes (3-4 intended outcomes for know, do, how apply. 200 words)
  • Participants will understand the mission and vision of the Project for Adolescent Literacy (PAL): To identify what works in adolescent literacy.
  • Participants will engage with PAL-designed tools for working with teachers and better understanding what they need to support adolescent literacy acceleration in their own classrooms and schools.
  • Participants will explore how they might design their own teacher-centered professional learning for their school, focused on accelerating adolescent literacy outcomes.
