L³ Summit: Embracing Leadership, Language, and Literacy
Wednesday June 10, 2026 1:40pm - 2:40pm MDT
What does it take to shift mindsets and transform practices around secondary literacy—and why is the time to act now? In this session, participants will explore a vision for secondary literacy that centers literacy accelerators across content areas to strengthen learning for all students. The session highlights how powerful adolescent literacy levers—such as fluency, syntax, and morphology—can amplify instruction, increase access to complex text, and serve as game-changers for improving literacy outcomes across an entire school system.

  • Examine how instructional levers such as fluency, syntax, and morphology support comprehension, access to complex text, and disciplinary learning.
  • Reflect on current instructional practices and systems to identify opportunities for stronger, more responsive literacy support across a school community.
  • Identify practical, evidence-based approaches that can amplify literacy instruction and improve outcomes for adolescent learners.
